Oil filter cap stuck no more

Hi all just a quick little thing people might find helpful.
I went to service my car the other day and wen I came to change the oil and filter I couldn't get the cap undone. I tried it with the proper tool and also a stap but that broke. So I thought I would have to smash it to get it off and buy a new one but my brother told me to try wrapping the cap in masking tape then put the tool on to stop it slipping and that worked so if yours won't come undone try wrapping the cap on masking tape and putting the tool on (might need to whack it on because it gets tighter but does work)
