How to change rear passenger & boot power fuses

Post by kurgan »

I posted this on another VW forum, it may be of use to some owners of 2001 Passats

I have discovered these fuses are not where the main fuses are located, but are below the drivers console.

First remove the three torx screws at the end of the panel and located under the fuse cover.

Then the other four screws that hold on the panel (they are in a recess but feel around and you will find them)

Two more 20amp fuses are revealed.

Upper one - Rear passenger cigarette/power outlet

Lower one - Boot power outlet

The fuse was blown on the upper one in my vehicle as the lighter had jammed shut in on position because of the door flap (seems a bit of a design flaw, or wasn't the lighter meant to be plugged in there?)

Anyway, my Son can now plug in his DVD player :-P

The pic below is a reversed LHD image, but it shows you where to go.
