android head unit best /recommended apps?

Basically i've been looking for a better music player for my android car stereo .
Yes i know there are loads to choose from on the oogle play store but i'm sure some will have compatibility issues , too fiddly , overly complicated ,just not practical while driving etc.
So if anyone has any tried and tested (on a Hui Fei Type device) and recommended apps please post the names and a bit of information .I think it would be rather helpful of wise it's a step in the dark
