Delta OEM head unit

I have a thing for OEM head units, and to save the embarrassing explanation of what a casstte is I want to fit a rhapsody or a delta. The Delta would be nice and I see that this was an option on the B5.5. However when I see the connections on the back of a delta there is a CAN bus there to control the dimming, Gala and auto off etc. I can find the CAN adaptor on ebay and even from China so this all looks possible.

My question is, if Delta was an option fit how did they control the dimming without connecting the CAN bus? Or is the wiring for one of these Delta cars a little different?

A Delta aside from wiring - is it a straight fit instead of a Gamma or do I need a DD cage?
