03 B5.5 stereo wiring diagram

Hi all,
Im wanting to put an aftermarket HU in my 03 B5.5.
I thought id wired it up correctly. However, the stereo loses its memory every time ign is switched off. Easy fix - just switch red and yellow wires around on the stereo wiring. However, the other issue i have is, if i dont have the lights on, thus the instruments arent lit either, if i then switch the radio on, the instruments light up, despite the headlights/side lights not being on.
Also if i have the lights switched on, the dimmer dial doesnt work unless the radio is off...
Any ideas what the issue is with this?
The stereo wires were loose and ive butchered a ISO adapter i ordered so the original ISO connectors dont have to be butchered.
So the wires go Stereo > ISO adaptor > factory ISO connectors.
Any help appreciated. Ideally a wiring diagram for an 03 b5.5
