CCTV and law

Post by ray112 »

So decided to buy cctv kit for my home, nothing special, just 2 cameras, 500gb hard drive, also connectable with phone, so should be OK for peace of mind. So now the question is about one of cameras. I'm thinking to put it in front of my house, so it covers front door and my car, which is parked in front of my windows on street. That means cctv will be recording small part of pavement between house and car. Is that against the law, or not really. Camera won't be taking anyone's else property, so not sure where it stands with all those stupid privacy acts etc. So please share your knowledge and experience about cctv.
Thanks, Ray.
