Plans to build a £34bn high speed rail link between London and the Midlands have got the backing from the House of Commons Transport Committee, which is looking into the economic case for the line. Transport Committee Chair, Louise Ellman MP says the group has "listened to a variety of views and listened to a lot of evidence". She adds: "It's clear that we need higher capacity on our rail and greater connectivity. High speed rail is needed. None of the alternatives put forward will deliver the same result"
hang on so they've found £34bil for this train why cant that moeny be spent on better facilities for our old age pensioners that money could put more ppl into caring for the the pensioners or use it to help the normal joe public buy cutting fuel cost's, i wonder how many of the ppl that said yes to this had back handers from the companies that will be building something that isnt needed its our taxes so why shouldnt we be asked what should be done with this money!!!!!!!!!
