well, last week just after starting the car it went a bit nuts and "EMISSIONS WORKSHOP" appeared!!
after a quick session with the old VAG com, it told me that the engine managment coolant temp sender was faulty, so it was reset and all was well.
it did the same again this morning, so i managed to find a green top sender just up the road for £15, superb.
on the way back from the auto factors, the car lost nearly all its boost and my heart just sank!
i got home and replaced the sender, which was an easy but messy job, started the car and the warning was gone, sorted.
had a look around and eventually found that a small rubber vacuum pipe had been rubbing on the clip that holds in the large pipe from the intercooler, i replaced it for a much heavier duty piece of rubber pipe and hey presto, boost was back.
so, all done? not quite.
took the car for a quick test drive and just as i was returning home the brakes failed, the pedal just froze in position, and i has NO brakes!!!!! good job i was just pulling onto the drive and its on a small slope!
up with the bonnet again,
after a lot of searching i found a plastic vacuum pipe had come away from its flexible rubber pipe, it was quyickly reattatched and we had brakes!!
even tho the last fault was prob down to me knocking it, it just proves they really do come in threes!!!!.
been a busy day under the bonnet!!
