Media player/itunes help

Got gf an i pod put ALL the files on that on the laptop....sorted job done
but
I got another type of mp3 player for my bday that uses windows media player to transfer files/music and i cannot for the life of my get any of the music onto it ????...ie all my files are now on i tunes on the desktop ..and wont find any ...need to swap em over possibly?
can anyone help/suggst anything ....other than buyin an i pod thanks
