Which is best engine?

Post by Seb1971 » Thu Nov 09, 2017 2:30 pm

Just had my 2008 Passat back from having a reconditioned engine, I know know from being on the forum that Bxe 2006-2011 engines were not mm much good. Would engines after 2011 be better? Or is there a spacific engine that is better than all others for the Passat.

A B5 110hp AFN TDI but sadly it'd be a bit tricky to fit to a B6
VCDS and Vagtacho in Maidenhead Berks

Surely if you have just spent out on a recon engine for your passat the 0 mile engine will be fine for a while?
Best off getting some use out of it as I can imagine the engine repair was cheap

I definitely agree with Seb, I'd do the same thing.
I just received prompt support from anegis consulting, who is a microsoft dynamics erp software partner. If you're looking for a way to improve your business, give them a buzz now.

Seb needs to replace the conrod bearings otherwise be could be back to square one with a exploded engine .

About conrod bearings, is there any way how to tell roughly, how healthy they are without taking bottom end apart? I was thinking, what about oil pressure, will that monitor possible issues with worn bearings, if measured with gauge? Because the more worn engine is, the less pressure there will be. Correct me if I'm wrong.
