Hi all

Just for clarification and for more of a warning to anyone who intends to use Chris's services.

It was me who posted the thread looking for contact details for Chris after he took the £500 deposit from me as a deposit to build a gtb2260vk kit for my A4 cabriolet. Following some lengthly discussion with Chris about which path to take and considering his exceptional reputation on most every forum he's a member on, I had no problem sending the money over as a bank transfer (which turns out to be my biggest mistake).

Since then I have attempted to contact him via pretty much every forum I can find his normal normal username on, all of which he's now inactive on except tdiclub which he's recently popped back up on. His usual telephone number is now dead, he refuses to answer messages or calls via facebook, facebook messenger or whatsapp, all of which he remains active on.

This post isn't about blackening his name, people will clearly have their own opinion of Chris based on more experience than I have with him but for those tempted to send money over for fabrication work or the supply of parts. Just be aware, you might not get what you pay for.

Carl

That information could prove very helpful, thanks for that.

As I say, I can't fault his knowledge and the £500 deposit for some fabrication work on a turbo kit was that start of spending a fair bit more with him but for some reason he just wouldn't get in touch. A shame really as it's difficult to find anyone who knows their way round the vag 2.5v6 tdi like he clearly does.

Yes, it's a loss to quite a few that he's gone, but the forum goes on, whilst we don't have a go to garage, we still have a great deal of knowledge available from many members enabling us to do it ourselves, which, is the essence of the forum, and there are members like Aidan who are more than happy to do your jobs with your cars, so you gain some familiarity with them. I dread the day there are no questions about modding or maintaining Passats.

I’m always more than happy to help. It’s a hobby for me really.

B5Before recently left his car with me for a week or so while I rebuilt his brake pedal (blue one, parts took a week to come from TPS...) and did a full service... I do take pictures throughout to show it’s been done btw. Never want anyone think they’re being done over. Always good to meet people with a similar interest in our cars. The more we keep on the road the better! Lol.

You mean empty or VWs in bits?

Usually like that mate. Think neighbors think I’m running a dealership. Had up to 3 Passats and both of mine parked there at one point lol. Getting a little more full now but the rhs is the side of my house and garden so I’m not in the way lol.

Nice and flat too. And out of the wind.

Your a good man Aiden. Always willing to help and offer your services! More out the love you have for cars than financial reasons. I will consider driving 90 odd miles next time I need something major done.
