Posting images difficulty
I can't seem to post them properly since the 17th May .
In the preview...
"It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. Please verify that the URL you entered is correct."
Even when the image is well undersize like 220x550 etc .
Anyone else having problems ?

Re: Posting images difficulty
As far as I am aware nothing has changed in the forum since I upload photos in the Other Items for sale thread on May 10th.
Vidahost did change something in the server configuration which caused the problem on Wednesday but I am finding it hard to understand what they might have done to cause this.
I will investigate.

Re: Posting images difficulty
Right I have got to the bottom of this and have asked Vidahost to investigate urgently.
As part of the changes to the server configuration they have stopped the use of file_get_contents which is what is used to retrieve the header of an image to determine the size of the image being posted, hence why the check fails.
It has also stopped the use of the reCaptcha feature in User Registration so we have had no new users since Wednesday as they cannot Register because of the fault.

Re: Posting images difficulty
That is more likely to be a Cookie problem.
With this new software at some time you should have seen a cookie Notice and as long as you said that was fine it should remember your login etc. I have to say mine is working fine as far as that is concerned.

Re: Posting images difficulty

Right happy to say the image problem has been fixed, and I have tested posting images and as long as they conform to our maximum size all is well. It will only give the error message now if your images are oversize or inaccessable to a file_get_contents external URL request i.e. your Firewall is blocking the request which it shouldn't as this is standard http/https code as is secure.
Any problems (or congratulations

Good stuff, baffles me why hosts mess with a stable config, or its a mistake.
Perhaps anyone struggling should drop their image links here where were all focused with different browsers etc.

Right I was a bit premature in declaring a fix as one fix broke another, but I am now finally happy to say the image problem has been fixed, and I have tested posting images and as long as they conform to our maximum size all is well.
