Taking pictures after a bump.Why?

I witnessed a car reverse into the next door neighbours car this afternoon,an oldish woman trying to reverse up the street got it totally wrong and proper side swiped the other car.
After details had been exchanged,the driver started taking loads of pictures of the car she had hit,damage,number plate,everything.
Just what is the point of taking photos? It was her fault,pen and paper were made available quickly for names and numbers etc.It just bugged me for some reason. (She looked a right stuck up old c#w.)
