Travelling into Europe

Just back from great holiday in southern Brittany in France. Fuel prices have shot through the roof and the French aren't happy especially petrol heads. Expect to pay 1euro 68 for petrol and 1euro 47 for diesel. I managed to find diesel for 1euro 30 from a supermarket!

My Passat 140 tdi estate sport was great. 4 bikes on the roof and a trailer carrying enough camping gear for a family of 4 for 3 weeks. 1664 miles and 35 :0 to the gallon, what a car!!!

What does amaze me though, how the car bumped and thumped it's way home once we arrived back in Blighty.

Anybody else been into europe this summer?
