Is there a reflex silver as well?

I like what you've done with your car especially the colour codeing of the door and bumper strips. Do you have to rub the plastic smooth and flat before you paint it or just slap it on?

Thanks for that. Im currently looking for a complete scrap or accident damaged car to swap the bits over, theres a couple on bEgay that im watching so we'll see how it goes with them first. Any idea on what sort of cash your after for it all?

Spoke to the insurance company today and im keeping the car and im going to repair it. The garage have agreed to de-gas the air con, which is nice, and im hoping that they'll drop it off back at my house on Monday when the fun will commense..... :-bd

Cheers , had it done professionally but yeah you have to rub it down etc etc then primer and paint i think :))

Reflex silver is a B5.5 colour, slightly brighter shade i think.

Spotted a few bits Yesterday at Whixall. Odd wing and bonnet here and there, not much in the way of Passats really ATM. There's a silver bonnet needs a bit of a minor repair on the front edge and a pair of wings, not silver.

There were a few Passat B5\5.5's at Prees, didn't get chance to look in there but probably worth popping in and having a look.

Cheers lurch.

When you say prees do you mean the salvage place just off the A49 on the left as you head toward Whichurch?

Yeah, there's cars everywhere there. Some are for salvage, some are to be moved to Whixall for breaking so if you can find anything at Prees you might be able to get your name on it before it's sent for breaking.

If anyone spots anything in the pictures that looks a broken that i may have missed please let me know.

Also any advice on removing the rads and front panel would be good or indeed any part of this project.

Cash donations would be fantastic....

God i hate Blackpool...

So anyway things have been a little slooooowww....

I bought a new cam belt plus all the other belts and a water pump from the stealers, along with new coolant for just over £200, and theres a mobile mechanic coming round to fit it in the morning.

Got a good second hand headlight off a gentleman off a here.

Still need a bumper and a bonnet in the right colour.

I got a new air con rad from a well known company and it was damaged, so i phoned them up and told them, and fair enough they agreed to replace it. When the replacement arrived not only was it damaged but it was the wrong one. Now im just waiting to get me cash back off them and i've found another one off'a bEgay.

So thats where we are at the mo. Im a bit miffed that it's taking so long to sort, just hope i can remember how it all goes back together.

Right a quick update.

New front panel already fitted followed by a new rad.

Image

Then, after three goes of trying and two companys later, a new air con rad.

Image

Followed by the original bumper reinforcer after a tickle with a big hammer.

Image

A tidy second hand headlight off that smashing bloke BORA BOY from off a here, and we are nearly there.

Image

Still on the look out for a bonnet and bumper in the right colour.

Image

Now i may have more time to get on with this.
