Owning two cars - insurance

I currently have a Audi a4 estate which i recently insured 2 months ago with Admiral as they were the cheapest.
I want to get a cheap small car, something like a VW golf for local miles.
How would the insurance work ? do i need to take out another separate insurance policy with zero NCB as my full NCB is on my Audi.
