Insurance - NCB

Been searching around for insurance for my renewal and seems like Admiral has provided the cheapest quote this year.
I was with Tesco last year and they have sent me proof of NCB which states 9 years even though i have been driving on my own insurance for 17yrs.
If i put 15yrs + on Admiral then it comes in £40 cheaper then putting in 9yrs.
How many years should i put in ?
I can't remember which other insurance companies i have been with in the past as I've always gone with different insurers.
They also ask if i have been on a Speed Awareness Course, but that didn't make any difference to the price.
