Vcds help near crewe cheshire

Post by Curtis_leroy » Fri Sep 29, 2017 12:53 pm

Hi guys,

I have had the old battery drain from changing my stereo and having the older gateway module version.

I had just bought a new gateway module and would like to see if there is anyone local to Crewe that may be able to help code it correctly so I can use the stereo again. I have a guy local that may be able to help but is trying to charge ridiculous prices for a quick swap over an re-coding.

any help from anyone would be life saving

Thanks in advance

I have literally just done this last weekend. Canbus module was behind the heater controls and easy to change.
I bought a cheap vcds, took the before screenshot-changed it over-reprogrammed as per the original.
Started fine the next day but my reverse light and fog didn't work!!! Got round to it yesterday and managed to program the RHD coding.
I'm at Sheffield if you wanted to travel mate, or check Gumtree and get yourself a cheap cable

I've got a reversing camera all sorts to go with the unit so it really does need sorting. Glad you made it sound easy enough. Sheffield is a bit of a drive but I'll certainly bare It in mind if I'm stuck. Much appreciated matey. Don't know too much about 'cressa' though, enlighten me?

Ha ha great blonde moment. If the cable comes with a disc you have all you need.

Last question buddy. The nearest cable for sale is Bradford, I know it's not eBay but did you collect yours? Is it dodgy asking them to post it dya think? I've only collected one thing off Gumtree previously

Still looking for local VAG COM users if anyone can help. May buy the cable of gumtree but unsure if send money before seeing the goods is a good idea.
