Anyone ever slept/camped in Passat Estate?

Thinking of putting a mattress in my B5.5 estate and joining my friends who are camping in the lakes in a few weeks.
Anyone ever tried it? Any tips/pics/suggestions?

I don't have a tent.Main priority is just to be warm and dryfor a night or two .
I have a roofbox to store any gear I'm taking so I can use the whole interior rear space.

Last time I tried this was back in the 1980's when my Dad had a new Cortina Estate.I was a bit shorter then.
About six foot now so leg room may be an issue??
