B6 going limp

My b6 starting going into limp mode today but after restarting it would be fine then later on when started again in would go back into limp mode but this time the eml came on and message saying

Emissions
Garage

no idea whats wrong with it. its a 2006 b6 estate 2.0 tdi dsg

any help appreciated
