Tyre shop badly scratches pristine alloy wheel and offers re

2011 Passat estate.

I recently has a puncture fixed in an independent tyre shop and in the process they badly scratched the wheel. They apologised and have offered a free repair of the wheel which comprises filling the scratches with some kind of aluminium paste then smoothing everything down.

Will the repair be as good as new? If not then obviously this affects its value and I will push for a replacement new wheel. The same tyre shop recently put tyres on inside-out then this so I probably won't use them again. They are nice people though, so I'm not going to make a fuss if the repair will be ok.
