Which Passat?

Hey Guys

Im new to the forum and have a question to ask.

Which Passat is best?

I have owned many many VW's in the past and would love to add a Passat to my list. Im 24 and need a new run around/project to fiddle with.

Im currently thinking that a B5 1.9TDI would be great but I dont know alot about them.
Do they have a DPF?
Do they have anything i should be weary of?
Common faults etc

Any thoughts would be great.
