tyre sizes ??? advice needed

so i have a b5.5 sportwagon im thinkin of running 19" x 8.5 " rims et 40 which would be a better choice of tyre size 225 35 or 215 35 ive got -35mm springs fitted as well

reason i ask is i understand the original wheels and tyres would have been 215 55 16 which doing a quick check on tyre calculator shows -.47 on the 225 35 fitment

any help / advice would be much appreciated
