OK, so i know there is quite a long thread about this elsewhere, (i just can't find it...)
But thought i would share as it's quite interesting.
So i filled up with £60 worth of Tesco Diesel and did my usual run to work till i ran it down to the red.
i then filled up with £60 worth of Shell Diesel, and again did my usual run to work to it ran down to the red...
Tesco: 444 miles averaging 50.4 MPG (total fuel 40.04 litres)
Shell : 460 miles averaging 52.3 MPG (total fuel 39.98 litres)
Now i know that the MPG my car is giving me is slightly off, since both fuel work out at £1.49/lt and £1.50/lt respectively but i also know that the Shell fuel is more expesive than tesco, so would have got less fuel in the first place for my £60.
- The only sad thing is that i only do a 20 minute trip to work (80% motorway) and for longer trips my MPG will usually be sitting at about 55...
