With my recent problem with an MAS fault that turned out to be the EGR contol valve.....got me thinkin`.
Any of you freaks out there downloaded VAG COM from Ross Tech and tried to "daignose" your own car,cleared errors,adjust stuff ??
Last year R tried to fit a Audiolink MP3 player to my Gamma V system.
You basically link it into cd line or daisy chain it fro the cd line.
Worked well except I could never get rid of the occassional "bleep" fro the Gamma unit.
Eventually I was told its because my Passat was never "configuared" to say that it had a cd player installed.
"Take it into VW and they will enable it" I was told.
Now I ay paying some oaf to charge me £50 just to change a few digits,if you understand me.......
Has anyone downloaded and used VAG COM either using a Laptop or their Home pc via a USB extention and correct lead.???
