On the off chance...

Post by Rich00p » Tue May 17, 2011 1:51 pm

Does anyone know who's got my old car? (project pipe n slippers)

I had a brief chat with him at Ultimate Dubs, he said he was a member on here?

the guy said he was going to 'do it up' after the idiot I sold it to thrashed it senseless.. I really hope he does, I even asked if he'd sell it back to me.. I couldn't believe the state of the rims let alone the rest of the car.

I knew who you first sold it to (jack) but it then sold to someone else in this neck of the woods (Somerset) and I'm afraid to say it was gradually getting worse :((

Saw my old wagon this week whilst on holiday... Wasnt impressed with how it was looking :(

The state of the wheels is no surprise if you'd of seen them shovelling snow up against them with a metal spade =((

I just dont get why you would do that! I mean they had minor curbing when Jack took it, but my god what did he do to it, his brother said the clutch was fine and then maybe a month later he came to a meet and told me he'd driven it so hard the clutch went and he'd had to replace the tyres, good job I threw in the luk kit for him!

Admitadly, the intercooler needed doing but other than that it was a decent looking reliable car, the guy I met at UD said the rear shocks were shot and they were not cheap I just dont get how it can go from one extreme to the other in less than a year! :((

Shame happens all the time, people with too much money & no sence or pride, Buy something nice then destroy it. Sold 2 show winning cars only for them to be completely ruined within a couple of months.

I know how you feel, jack looks after his cars reasonably well (his dads been a mechanic for 30+ years and they run a successful/busy garage near me) but he does drive his cars very hard. When I last saw your car with the lad/bloke jack had sold it too he'd taken the rear adjusters out (and I presume the bumpstops too) and the back end was bouncing all over the place and the car had some crazy reverse rake going on. rear windows were getting plastered in stickers too which for me spoiled the clean look you'd created.

yeah it had stickers all over it when I saw it :???:

I guess I just feel sore because it took me ages to save up for the car in the first place, then all the bits I did to it. oh well, life goes on..

Yea I know what you mean Rich, our cars always become a labour of love and an ambition to complete the image you have in your head.
