Recommend me a car polisher

Post by Jk* » Sat Mar 05, 2011 7:39 pm

As Im getting old and lazy I am thinking about getting a car polisher. Ideally one that doesnt need mains power all the time and I can use at shows for my wheels.

Anyone got any recommendations? Not sure if I could run one from the boot socket?!

Thanks.

Mains power isn't a problem, just get an inverter thingy to plug into your cigarette socket.

I'm looking at getting a Das 6 pro DA polisher for a bit of paint correction and up keep. Reviews all look to be very good.

Have a look on http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk I buy all my other car cleaning goodies from there and will be getting the polisher from there too.

I have one of these DAS-6 Dual Action Polisher.
Works very well and has the added advantage of being a dual action polisher which unlike the rotary polishers is unlikely to burn paintwork in inexperienced hands. Can recommend it.

Whats the difference between them apart from the price?

I was recommended the £169 set by Tom Edge from SWDUBS.

Different combinations of polishes/pads.

Tom has a DAS pro. He's done a fair few, think he uses megs stuff. I've heard good things about the menzerna polishes but I've no personal experience with them.
