I have a Witter towbar to fit, but the cable has been cut. I have a socket in the back of my OSR light cluster, so it would make sense to use this socket for the purpose of tidyness. But not for the £70 VW want for the cable.
Mine's a '99 3B (B5) Estate and it's searching the internet that's confused me. Can any of you tow-ers confirm if this cable is the 12N electrics? Towequipe tell me they only have it listed for 2001 onward cars and I can't seem to find anything that makes it clear about cable only information - some's even referring to a towing ECU
Does anyone have a B5 with towbar electrics that's plugged into the light cluster? or does anyone know what cable it is and where I might get it from?
At the moment, I'm not adverse to simply soldering the cables, but it seems a bit of a shame if there's a plug there to be used
Would appreciate any advice as I don't know anything about towbar electrics.
