Race weekend at Castle Combe.
In the Passat, 108 miles down to the track from Northampton, 1hr 45min journey down, mostly cruising above the limit. An indicated 36.5mpg.
After 3 laps of qualifying a heater blank plug burst and blew the head gasket, so it was load the race car back on the trailer and bu**er off home.
Decided to head home across the Cotswolds, I've used this road for many years and the 'ssat loved it, never put a foot wrong. Could have done with that planned Upsolute though.
I found the car handled very well not understeering too much at all, maybe on the lower speed corners and roundabouts.
Very pleased with my first cross-country fast drive
