I was crapping myself managed to limp back to my grandads house thinking something major was wrong maybe turbo, thought this is going to be exspensive.
called out the rac thinking i was looking at a long trip home in a recovery lorry. the guy turned up started the engine and reved it, got out and said coil pack then plugged his laptop in to find out which one. guess it must be a common problem for him to know that straight away and he had one onboard.
anyway only cost me £28 for the coil pack, happy days
that's got to be a lot cheaper than if i had taken it to a garrage, car now running perfect again.
