I was here so time back with a good old B5 1.8T Sport Estate which I sold to aid the renovation of our house. Theres a chance I might be able to spend about 3K replacing our aging Golf TDI in the near future and I quite fancy another Passat.
But although I know it has to be another diesel estate with a manual box Im torn between a late 5.5 and a 6.
From looking at a number of for sale ads online I could get a nice B5.5 with the 130bhp six speed with nice toys like heated leather etc, or a SE spec 105bhp B6 for similar money.
I liked my old B5 (athough wasnt that happy with the engine and gearing of the 1.8T) and I know from our Golf and A4 that the 1.9tdi is a decent enough engine but would people personally go for the older 5.5 or newer 6?
My heart says B5.5 with toys, but the newer shape of the B6 really does look good imoa.
