2.5 tdi passat b5.5

Post by connor »

i had bought a v6 tdi passat a few months back. it started to over heat a after a couple of days.
now i have got round to sort it out. no body wants to fix it. iv been told by 3 different vag mechanics to sell it on its not worth the hassle.

one guy today started to strip the car to see what the problem is. he wudve had to break viscous fan to even get at it.
another vw mechanic told him to put the car back together not to even try to fix it.

i was told a whole list of problems why he didnt want to touch it. he even said that if he was to try and fix it there would more than likely be a whole list of parts that would need replaced and even when fixed there will still be problems with it.

is it really that bad to put timing belt on a v6 ? i will not get another passat of the same spec not being a 2.5 but dont want to spend thousands on the one i have are they that unreliable ?
