Sharan and Galaxy - how similar to B5/5.5?

Hi there,

Have a B6 Passat with 110k on the clock. Purrs like a kitten.

Am looking at also buying a high mileage Sharan/Galaxy diesel auto from 2002-2005 for the missus.

Will be going for the 115bhp engine - is the Sharan/Galaxy pretty much as well-made as the B5/B5.5? As they are from same period.

Should I shy away from decent looking 150k+ mile cars or even up are well-looked after 200k ones still okay? (ie no major bills looming) also, what is likely to be needed? such as re-building or anything like like?

I know it is a lottery but just looking for general guidelines from the knowledgable people here.
