B5.5 induction kit with heat shield

Post by deacon »

Just thought i would shoe you my weekend handiwork making a heat shield for my induction kit (TDI 130)
The shield was made from some 2-3mm aluminium sheet i had spare in garage

first induction kit fitted straight onto MAF, held in place with cable ties for now Note there is a vacuum that comes from the airbox, i blocked this off and the car run like poo, so I but some foam over it to stop anything going in there

First trial fit (used original airbox mounts with rubbers inserted, drilled 2 holes and put 2 bolts and bolts in to mount the shield.

I drilled 2 more holes in the top so i could mount the original engine plastics

And there we go all done not bad for a couple of hours work
