Rear Cycle / Bike Carrier for B8 Estate

Hi all,

I have a B8 estate and I would like to get a rear cycle carrier for it to carry 3 bikes. What I am not sure of at the moment through, is if any of the carriers obstruct the lights/registration plate and therefore need a rear number plate board. I don't have the electrics for this on the back of the car, so I'm hoping to buy a carrier that doesn't obstruct the lights and number plate. Has anyone had any success with these? I have seen the Halfords, Saris Bones and Thule ones but not sure if they work without a separate number plate board.
