Limp mode / cuts out / wont start

Post by smilie121 »

Been a while since I been on here (divorce, court and moving 3 times) eek.

Anyway my Passat has given me much grief this past 2 weeks. It is a 2016 DSG. It cut out at 15mph and wouldnt restart until I cleared faults with OBDeleven. I could hear the fuel pump making a knocking noise so replaced it was fine for 4 days. It went into limp mode and has cut once. It does start and cannot hear any noises from the pump that concern me. OBDeleven says there are numerous faults for fuel pressure, electrical inc transmission and air con. The warning on the dash is the same as the first time. Flashing glow plugs, ACC unavailable, start stop fault (though its disabled) and instantly tells me its shutting down to preserve the battery.

No garage can touch it till Feb 20th and I am self employed so no car no work. One ran a diagnostic and said the same I already told him and wants £72 for the privilege.

Can someone save it from a can of petrol and matches?
