Dirt build up behind front arch liner

Discovered today a large quantity of road grit and debris behind my driver and passenger side arch liner, i have no mud flaps or splash guards as they are now known 
The design is absolute poo and traps everything i could pot up a couple of plants with the medium that came out of this area suggest all with a B8 check this as it will lead to corrosion moving forward . Suggest removing the 3 torx screw and having a look my 2016 was like a garden centre behind there , design fault vw tech 100%
