B8 headlight upgrade

So tonight i just realised my lights are Halogen. I brought car a few days ago and ad and info listed as LED headlights. No i didnt check and no i didnt know difference in appearance.
So i understand i have 2 options - renew bulbs with LED ones or new headlights altogether at several hundred plus £££. Bit annoyed as car has a few paid for upgrades but not the lights as i originally believed.
Will i be dissapointed with LED bulbs??? Not wanting to splash out on new headlights. I upgraded my previous Passat with HID as wife has terrible night vision so its thr same scenario again.
