Timing belt

Post by DadAndy » Sun Jun 03, 2018 9:02 pm

I am looking to buy a 64 plate 2.0 TDI with 104,000 on the clock and have been told that it hasn't had a timing belt change as it doesn't need one until 120,000 miles. I thought they needed one at 80k and have now read somewhere that it is 60k or 5 years. Can anyone advise what the proper mileage for replacing these things really is?

Yes was planning to get them to do it but was just considering if I could chip the price of the car if it should have been done already. Thanks guys.

I would say get them to do it in the deal but i don't believe a word any car salesman says.
Chip away at the price and get a local indi to do it then you are 100% it's done.
Do the water pump at the same time.
