Wheel offsets and width

Post by NewtonsLaws » Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:25 am

I'm looking at getting a second set of wheels, just not sure how far I can go with the offsets and widths, some of the wheels I have looked at are as low as 33 and with 235/245 tyres, will these fit a b8?

Would this be too close to the strut? Image

Tyre hight could be little bigger 235/45r18 would be a closer match to your current wheels. Otherwise your wheel gap will increase and speedo will show more than actual speed is.

OK, thank you so In terms of fitting should be no issues apart from changing the tyre size

OEM wheels are usually with quite good tolerances, so you usually can play with width and offset a bit. So your new wheels should fit without any issues. And increasing tyre hight with make the car softer on bad quality roads.
