phantom screen presses - is my car haunted?

only started recently, can be on sat nav screen, driving then suddenly it will start beeping and acting like someone is touching the screen.
annoying as when it happens it will take the screen off the car, and just does it pretty much consistently until a full reset (ie turn off, get out, lock the car and wait).
varies as well, sometimes just once every few seconds, and sometimes as if someone is just pressing the screen with multiple fingers, this renders it useless.
then the hard buttons will not function.
the car is over a year old, but company leased so not an issue to get it in for repair.
