Are you fitting it on estate or saloon? Aftermarket or genuine?

buy the golf 7 camera also OK. depends on your budget. If you do not need 360' air view, save the money :esm
No module is required.
Just coding the headunit after hardware installation.

Is there such a thing as Left and right hand drive versions?

yes, something like that, you don't need the PDC module.
You need the camera, and the cables, power and signal. Should be easy to get the GOLF 7 version in full set.

No RHD / LHD for low end camera, as I know.

Thought I would bump an old thread as opposed to start a new one.

Has anyone fitted a reversing camera to a B8 Passat estate without spending silly money?

Did you go OEM or aftermarket?

Would be interested in a How 2 guide if anyone has.

Thank you ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^

Just didn't feel the need to do it as I change my cars every two years, ;)

Fair play. I tend to keep mine for 6 years + so looking at if I should hold out for the spec I want or how cost effective it may be to retrofit one that doesn't have it.

Also watching, as I would be interested in retro fitting a camera to my B8 estate.

Had the reversing camera on my previous Golf, and do miss it #-o

I have seen the option on the long coding using the OBDeleven.

The camera's are about £200- £250 on ebay. You could get £30-£50 back for your old VW handle. There are some selling a module cable which looks like an adapter effectively and not sure if this is also required for proper fitment??? Not taken the boot lining off to look. If i could get one for £150 I would do it and post a guide.
