Is your new car a 2018 or the revised 2019 model?

It’s MY19. Face lift version doesn’t come out until the summer. Assume that will be MY20

My Passat Estate has been sitting as "Your order is with the factory" on the tracker from about 2 days after I ordered it near the end of Jan this year. Be interested to see when it receives a build week designation and if it actually turns out correct. I am hoping the wait has gone down a bit from some of the orders placed last year and reported on here. Was told about 4 months by dealer.

Been hovering in background on this forum re tracking app. Ordered car 4th Jan and showed order with factory for weeks, last week updated to build week confirmed but no date given. Today updated to car built and has left factory.

Dealer also rung to confirm en route to UK so may arrive earlier than expected. original delivery date was estimated as 7th April

Still waiting!!! Ordered on 24th August 2018 and is apparently "In Transit". VW say that it is normally 4 weeks from in transit to being at the dealers.
Maybe the long wait time is due to the extras that I ordered - car is a GT estate 1.5evo dsg with heated w/screen, steering wheel and electric boot . But still, 7 months is a long time to wait.

Me too. Car built about 2 weeks ago but waiting to be shipped.
Mine’s headed for Glasgow so will presumably go to Tyne Port.

Well, all being well, I pick up my car tomorrow!!! Still showing as "In the UK", on the on line tracker, dealer has said it is here and tomorrow is the day.
I hope the wait will have been worthwhile.

Still waiting. Been at Emden waiting for a boat since 10 March. Extraordinary.
Will be interested to hear your thoughts on the 1.5 engine. Moving to that engine from a 2.0L diesel.

I took delivery of a 1.5 TSi manual in December. Given the engine is new to the Passat haven't seen any mention of it in passat specific forum. S but there is a barely acknowledged fault with the engines.

Moving from a diesel back to petrol I thought the kangarooing when moving away and loss of power changing up to second gear was just me relearning to drive a petrol. Only happens when the engine is cold. Turns out it is a big problem on the T-Roc and VW have tried 2 so far unsuccessful fixes for it. There was an honest john article in January about it. A third software fix is due imminently. I wonder if your car is being held back for this?

Incidently have any other 1.5 owners experienced this? Certainly something to look for when you pick up your new passats

Thanks. Hope VW get that sorted. I experience similar in my Ford Focus which has a 1L Ecoboost engine. Fine on the move, but can be a bit juddery moving off in 1st.

I had a 1.5TSi 130 manual Golf as a courtesy car and didn’t notice any issues at all; thought it was quite nice although not perhaps as quick as you’d expect 130bhp to be. I assume the heavier Passat with the 150 engine would feel similar.

I ordered a Passat GT 1.5 EVO DSG in Feb. Went to "build week confirmed" yesterday. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has experienced problems on the DSG and/or whether it is just the manual box version that is problematic. I have read the Honest John article comments and it seems like the manual only. I know some people have reported lag on the DSG too.

Hi Jibby - thanks for that info. My Passat has been built but not yet arrived at dealer’s. Like yours it’s a 1.5 TSI manual. I’ve read the Honest Joe article and the many comments below. Very worrying.
How is your Passat performing please ?
I’m thinking of cancelling my order and re-ordering when VW has resolved what appears to be a recognised problem.

It's only for the first 5 minutes. Now the weather is better it is less of a problem. It was an issue in the snow as I had to drive around in first gear, not ideal. I'm holding out for a fix as we need the bigger car, and living out of the city once I'm in 3rd gear it's not a problem.

There is a wealth of information on the t-roc forum. It seems not every car is affected, so might be worth being up front with the dealership and try the car and reserve the right to reject it in the first 30 days.

Cheers. I’ve emailed my dealer and referred them to the Honest John Article and the comments below. The dealer of course claims to be completely unaware of any problem with the 1.5, and will be referring to VW.
I’ve told the dealer that I want reassurance that the problem has been fixed. As a private buyer can’t afford to buy a lemon.
I’ll see what they say. Come Sunday my motor will have been at Emden for 4 weeks awaiting a ship. Unbelievable !

Should have added to my comment - had an A3 1.5 150 when my A2 was MOT’d earlier this year, it was a real peach.

OK here we go. Took delivery last Thursday and the very next day drove down to Devon. First impressions were that the boot was, as hoped, big enough to load my electric scooter and all our luggage for a weeks self catering without having to put the back seats down, and still had the luggage cover on.
The drive was silky smooth and the suspension soaked up the speed humps very well. It took a while to get used to the active cruise control, but I soon got to love it.
Still trying to work out some of the settings, there are so many menus and sub menus, but I am getting there.
Average mpg over the trip home , - a mixture of narrow Devon lanes and motorways - was 41 mpg. To be honest, I was expecting slightly better than that, but may possibly improve when I've put a few more miles on the clock. Mileage is now 620 and NO sign so far of the dreaded kangarooing, but reading the TRoc forum comments, it does seem to only affect the manual gearbox. It was disappointing that the nav system did not have speed camera warnings, so I used Google maps and Waze which did have them. One thing is that I ,so far, have not found how to get total mileage display. All in all, I like the car, butn it is different to my last one, a Volvo xc60.

Do you have active info display? On mine if you have cruise control on it is hidden by the set speed icon. Turn cruise control off and it will show up. You can also get it on the media centre by selecting car and scrolling through the pages.

Yes, I have active display. The speed set is shown on the speedometer, if speed drops below that set you will see a green line round the dial and a red one if you exceed the set speed. Speed is also shown in the bottom of the display.
Don't forget, I am using acc, I don't have just cruise control. The onle mileage display I can see is the trip meter which is visible all the time.

It’s the same without the Active Display, you don’t see the mileage when you have cruise or speed limiter set - I just check mine every now and then when starting the car

Just found total mileage. It only shows when I turn the engine and ignition off.
