They can be repaired. Ironically I only found out mine were self healing when I got a puncture and to took it to the garage for a puncture repair.

I had self seal on my B7, car had a full size spare, so no idea why VW fitted them. Only found out when replacing them. New tyres did not have the self seal and when you compared the weight it was very noticeable. The MPG improved by getting rid if the extra weight.

I guess the build week is Feb for the rest of us?

Looks like the minor facelift will be announced in March. Will that be a factor for anyone?

My build week has now ( unofficially) been brought forward to week 7 from week 8. Still "with the factory" on the online checker.

Just ordered a 1.5 TSI SE Business Estate. No word back from dealer yet on build date but reading this thread makes me think it could be 3/4 months before the car arrives. Maybe - although dealer didn't seem to know - that might mean my car will be the 2019 refresh. We'll see.
As a private buyer the cost of change was most important for me which reduced by £1,400 over the course of negotiation.

I just ordered one as well, some good deals around! I was told late March was most likely but my local dealer, who i didnt use in the end, was saying May. I'm not good at waiting at the best of times, the next few months will be interesting! :-?

My local VW dealer was poor on customer service and price, and I went with Arnold Clark. As always, depends on the salesperson but AC were pleasant and straightforward and l felt l got a good deal though you're never quite sure if you cld have pushed further. I did get some extras in the deal.
Did you get the impression your Passat wld be the refreshed model ?

I had no indication of that, but depending on timing it's possible i guess! My feeling is the refresh cars won't come along until the other side of the summer but we'll see :ymdaydream:

My local dealer was very friendly but took too long, i had to order Monday or lose a section of discount, and they were still £1200 away from where they needed to be.

Yes, if you turn the tables and say you're going to order that day the price does suddenly drop.
Think you're right about date for refreshed models.
