They can be repaired. Ironically I only found out mine were self healing when I got a puncture and to took it to the garage for a puncture repair.

I had self seal on my B7, car had a full size spare, so no idea why VW fitted them. Only found out when replacing them. New tyres did not have the self seal and when you compared the weight it was very noticeable. The MPG improved by getting rid if the extra weight.

I guess the build week is Feb for the rest of us?

Looks like the minor facelift will be announced in March. Will that be a factor for anyone?

My build week has now ( unofficially) been brought forward to week 7 from week 8. Still "with the factory" on the online checker.

Just ordered a 1.5 TSI SE Business Estate. No word back from dealer yet on build date but reading this thread makes me think it could be 3/4 months before the car arrives. Maybe - although dealer didn't seem to know - that might mean my car will be the 2019 refresh. We'll see.
As a private buyer the cost of change was most important for me which reduced by £1,400 over the course of negotiation.

I just ordered one as well, some good deals around! I was told late March was most likely but my local dealer, who i didnt use in the end, was saying May. I'm not good at waiting at the best of times, the next few months will be interesting! :-?

My local VW dealer was poor on customer service and price, and I went with Arnold Clark. As always, depends on the salesperson but AC were pleasant and straightforward and l felt l got a good deal though you're never quite sure if you cld have pushed further. I did get some extras in the deal.
Did you get the impression your Passat wld be the refreshed model ?

I had no indication of that, but depending on timing it's possible i guess! My feeling is the refresh cars won't come along until the other side of the summer but we'll see :ymdaydream:

My local dealer was very friendly but took too long, i had to order Monday or lose a section of discount, and they were still £1200 away from where they needed to be.

Yes, if you turn the tables and say you're going to order that day the price does suddenly drop.
Think you're right about date for refreshed models.

About £3,000 should be the discount level on a 1.5TSi DSG SE Business.

Ironically, despite a higher list price for the 2.0TDi 150 DSG SE Business the discounts are much greater and they end up another £1,200 cheaper

I got a similar discount to the op, though mine is the manual rather than dsg. I'm too anal about when gear changes happen i don't think i could cope with that! Just my personality though

Has the op got his car yet do we know?

Wonder if our 1.5 will be the facelift since it's produced in Feb...

My order is with the factory but no build date yet. If the refresh date is that close it would be good to have a Passat built to the revised spec if only, as a private buyer, to help with depreciation. Fingers crossed.

Same here. Still with the factory. Dealer has given an "unconfirmed " build as week 7. Fingers crossed for the latest spec.

The press release for the 2019 car said they were making changes to the factory for it already, which is encouraging, but they also say that the countdown to the new model starts at the end of January (though that may have been a translation thing as it's awkwardly worded, I'll try and find the original German version). Either way there should be more info comkng out over the next few weeks.

I still have no build week yet but the dealer indicated around week 11.

I posed the question thru' the VW Chat Line linked to the Tracker. The lady mentioned July but she's UK based and she didn't seem to be well informed.

I read somewhere on the VW website that you'll only get allocated a build week around 4 weeks in advance of the build week itself, so hopefully it'll go to stage 3 in the next 2 or 3 weeks!

I've been chasing an update too, not heard anything yet though :-s

Anyone has a confirmed build week with the online tracker? Mine still in stage 2, though the dealer has said build week 07.... I thought build weeks are confirmed 4-6 weeks prior...

My Passat order has been at stage 2 for 4 weeks.
When l ordered a new Golf 3 years ago it went from stage 2 to built within 4 weeks.
Not sure what’s going on at VW.
The facelift Passat expected to debut at Geneva in March.
Wonder whether that has anything to do with delay.
