Front Tyre Wear

Hi all

Just had first service (10K miles) on my Jan 15 reg B8 TDI 2.0 190 that has done 10042 miles at the service.

Dealer told me front tyres (continental 19") were both already down to 3mm with even wear. This sounds really poor wear to me and at this rate I'll be replacing both tyres after just 12 - 13k miles.

Asked the dealer who said it was because of the high torque of the car but as the car is so new they have no real benchmark for type longevity.

I'm no speed merchant/boy racer although most of the miles have been motorway driving at c80mph and was wondering if any one had experienced similar or had any views. IE am I expecting too much life from a front set of tyres (my old Mondeo 2.2 TDI did about 20 - 25k on it's fronts)
