driveshaft touran

Hi everyone. well its has been a busy afternoon replacing cv boot again!!! q drive from ECP only lasted 6 months, so i bought GKN boot this time.
only 6 months, and it looks like it is a few years old...cheap for a reason i suppose
while doing this job, ive noticed that one of the driveshafts i can move it in and out and the other one aint moving at all. is this normal? the reason im asking, because i get vibrations at idle and side to side movement when accelarating at high speeds so im guesing it could be a inner cv joint. tyres balanced, tracking has been done, control arm bushings replaced.
