Audi A4 Mystery Part??

While I was at work today an elderly lady approached me and asked me for some help.
She said the boomerang shaped part (pictured) had recently fallen off her car,(1999 Audi 1.8T bright green,very similar to top pic).
She asked me if I could help her and find out what part of the car it was from.
She said it had dropped off her car in the last week or so and was lying on the drive next to her car.
I looked for a good ten minutes,but couldn't see anywhere obvious that this part had fallen off from.
Can anyone else help identify what it is and where it goes?
A pic/arrow on an A4 showing it's proper location would be very helpful.
