Any peugeot citroen experts in the house?

Post by firehawk »

Hellooooooooo.

I am after a little bit of advice on a problem with my uncles 1993 peugeot 306 naturally aspirated diesel.

His heater motor does not work and for the life of me, I can't work out what the problem is. I have done the usual checks so far but there may be something i've forgot or don't know.

So far i've -

checked the fuse - all good
checked for feeds at the motor. with motor unplugged and heater switched on, there is a live feed to one wire and earth feed to the other. live feed goes off when switched off. with motor plugged in and switched on, there is a live feed to both wires.
The motor works ok when attached directly to a battery.
I've changed the resistor to a 2nd hand one which made no difference, however there is a possibilty that that could be a duff aswell.

If you could help me out here, i'd be extremely greatful. especially as it is bloody cold lately so he could really do with it working.

Cheers

jeff
