Re: Window reg and door modules.

Swap for what? Mines knackered and from a B5.5, so will be no good to you, and I need more than just the motor :(

Re: Trouble resetting caliper piston!?

Yes very much so, the system is sealed and holds high pressure, how you thought you'd push the fluid back without allow the air to escape I'm not sure but removing the cap is a must, or undoing the bleed nipple.

Re: Rear valance

Clean the area, cover it with masking tape and draw your cut on it then carefully cut just inside the line, you can the trim it perfectly to size with a more gentle tool to leave a neat finish :)

Re: belt or chain

Belts sound safe option as you can see it! The chain is hidden but the tensioners or whatever they are called that the chain is connected to probably needs checking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Not so much as the chains and tensioner are within the engine casing normally so get a good lube o...

Re: 2.5 tdi passat b5.5

They are not bad, however your issue could lie with either the water pump or thermostat, both require the cambelt to be removed, so a new belt as well is on the list. It's a bit of a pain on the 2.5v6 but not overly difficult, the mechanics are talking the job up, be weary of a ridiculous quote for ...

Window reg and door modules.

Hi Guys, As a few have found recently the control modules on the window regulators for the drivers door (and possibly the others) are not 100% cross compatible throughout the years, fitting the wrong one can result in only the 1 door working correctly, and in the case of the drivers door the rest of...

In reality they'd loose a fortune, not just the cost at build, but all the service work as well, think how much they make from belt changes!

If you put MK3 golf stuff alongside b3 you will find its shorter, so a 40mm drop will be much more on the Passat :)

Re: Which Passat?

It would be for me, I'd far rather be in an old VW than a new one, I literally would take a free pick from the modern range, in fact my aim is down go back in time from my b5.5 as soon as it's not the only car in the house :)

More importantly expect R - line and top end models to look like that, the lower 'standard' specs will be Higher, have smaller wheels and less body 'styling' without doubt.
