Re: Car Dead, Help Needed
Small tip if a boost hose blows off, unplug the MAF and is should start and run using the other sensors. I would not want to drive far like this but good enough to get you off the road. Driving like this you have no air filter so I woudl not want to drive in dusty conditions either.

Re: slow 1.8T, not N75
The 1.8T's quite often go into limp mode and that will cut the boost down to the actuator pressure which can make it feel like there is no turbo.
I think VAG COM is your best bet might safe you a lot of time.

Re: Gear selection first and reverse !!
Just a quick thing to try which may give you an idea is to pump the clutch a few times and then try and ingage first or reverse, if it goes in a little better then that ponts to air in the system which a bleed dhoudl fix.

Re: noise from new discs/pads
Could be the back plate rubbing the disc as it is easy to catch it with the wheel when removing it and that is enough to bend the back palte to touch the disc. If it is this then not to much to worry about just bus you a bit, easy fixed by bending the plate back clear of the disc.

Re: YES! ANOTHER clutch & flywheel question
If your going to go mad tunning and want to drive it like you stole it then go for a solid flywheel conversion if you can find one.
Not sure what setup the W8 uses maybe you could look into that.

Souns like you lost a cell in the battery so even though is was charged it was only putting out around 10 volts.

Re: Coolant loss
Could be 101 things but I would start with a good look around the engine bay with the cover off to see if you can see any signs of a leak around any joints of around the radiator. Leaks often show up as a residue left behind which can be a white ish colour.

I have seen an allard EGR delete pipe and it was not the best quality so I would try else where.
Also I have heard removing the EGR can bring up a fault code on some models, more the later ones with the o2 sensor.

Re: Spent FAR to much money today!!! TDI Clutch Kit
To clamp the flywheel in place I made a tool that I bolted through one of the gearbox mounting holes. I used an air gun to remove the bolts so the loocking device was only needed when putting it back on. On the Luk box it says you need a special setting tool due to the SAC (self adjusting clutch) bu...

Re: Spent FAR to much money today!!! TDI Clutch Kit
Few points I forgot to mention (mrs was nagging). My exhaust was one piece to the centre box so I just disconnected is so I could move it around to access bits. The bottom engine to gear box bolts are hard to get on due to the sub frame so after removing the gear box mounts I lifted the box a little...

Re: Spent FAR to much money today!!! TDI Clutch Kit
I just did my clutch with the Luk kit you have but I also changed the spigot bearing as it only costs £4 but you will need a slide hamer of similar to remove it. You will also need new bolts for the flywheel. Fly wheel and drive shalfts are held on with M10 and M12 12 points torx style bolts. Gearb...
